    Jason MEADOR was born 1707 in Essex Co., VA; died Aft. 30 March 1774 in Anson Co., NC. GRANTEE Meadors, Jason. grantee. DATE 12 January 1747. Location: Amelia County. Description: 244 acres on the head of Sandy Creek on both sides of the road. Source: Land Office Patents No. 28, 1746-1749 (v.1 & 2 p.1-730), p. 287 (Reel 26). Part of the index to the recorded copies of patents for land issued by the Secretary of the Colony serving as the colonial Land Office.     Transcript of Jason Meadors, Sr's will:In the name of God Amen I Jason Meador of the County of Anson in the province of North Carolina being in perfect since and memory Thanks be to the Almighty God for the same but Calling to mind the Certainty of Death and unsurtainty of life knowing that it is appointed that I should Die I give my Soul to the almighty God and my body to the Earth from whence it came and ordain This my Last Will and Testament as following to say it is my Desire that all my Debts to be paid by the Discressions of my Executors as following. I give and bequeath inpromisis I Give unto my beloved wife Elizabeth the plantation as I now possess and all other my substance During her natural Life and at her Decease it is my will that the sd. plantation and Tract of land Descend unto my children it is also my will and desire that my said wife Elizabeth keep in possession on and enjoy all the rest of my Estate real and personal During her natural Life and at her Decease to be Divided as hereafter Directed. I give unto my eldest son Lewis five shillings sterling and also DuaMa, Marion and Thomas one Shilling sterling Eash. Item it is my Will, that at the Decease of my wife Elizabeth that my Plantation and Land and other substance be Equally Divided amongst several Children herein named Lewis Jason Job and Mariah to them and their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly I do constitute and appoint my Beloved wife Elizabeth my son Lewis and Job sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking Dieonnuling and making void all former and other wills, by me heretofore made ratifying and holding The above premiaes as Witness my hand and seal this Twenty Third Day of March Anno Domini one Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy four.

    This Indenture made this 10th. Day of June in the year of our Lord 1776. Between Lewis Meador, Jason Meador, Job Meador, Elizabeth Meador the wife sen. Dec’d. and Abraham Rushing of Anson county and province of North Carolina of the one part and Malachi Watts of the county and province aforesd. of the other part Witnesseth that we the sd. Lewis Meador, Jason Meador, Job Meador, Elizabeth Meador the wife of Jason Meador sen. Dec’d. and Abraham Rushing for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds proc money to them in hand paid by the sd Malachi Watts before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Recpt whereof they Doth acknowledge themselves therewith fully satisfied and paid hath granted Bargained sold aliened Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant Bargain sell alien Enfeoff convey and confirm unto the sd Malachi Watts one piece or parcel of land Lying and being in the County of Anson on the middle prong of Jones’s creek Beginning at a white oak so. of sd. Prong near the Red Lick and Runing thence No. 5 wt. 44 chains and 73 links to a stake among 3 white oaks then so. 85 wt. 44 chairs and 73 links to a stake among 2 white oaks a hickory and pine then so. 5 Et. 44 chains and 73 links to a stake by a black Jack then Direct to the Beginning containing two hundred acres of Land as by Patent granted to Jason Meador Dec’d. bearing date the 24th. of December 1770 as may more fully appear To therewith all the houses woods waters watercourses profits privileges hereditaments and appurtenances to the sd Land Belonging or in anywise appertaining To have and To Hold the sd Bargained Land and premises with all and Singular the appurtenances unto the sd Malachi Watts his heirs and assigns to his and their proper use Benefit and Behoof forever and the sd Lewis Meador, Jason Meador, Job Meador and Elizabeth Maedor wife to him the sd. Jason Meador Dec’d. and Abraham Rushing for themselves their heirs Exrs. And admrs. Doth covenant and agree to and with the sd Malachi Watts they the sd. Lewis Meador, Jason Meador, Job Meador and Elizabeth Maedor wife of the sd. Jason Meador Dec’d. and Abraham Rushing is the true sole owners of the hereby granted and Bargained premises and now Lawfully seized and possessed of the same in fee simple and hath good Rightfull power and Lawful authority to sell and Dispose thereof and that he the sd. Malachi Watts his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter peaceably and Quietly by Virtue of these presents have hold occupy and Enjoy the sd hereby granted Land and premises and that free and clearly acquitted and Discharged of and from all manner of Incumbrances whatsoever In Witness whereof we the Lewis Meador, Jason Meador, Job Meador and Elizabeth Maedor the wife of Jason Meador Dec’d. and Abraham Rushing hath hereunto set their hands and affixed our seals the Day and year first above Written Signed sealed and Delivered In the presence of us.
