Thomas Howard

Thomas was born in 1473 in Kenninghall, Norfolk, England. Thomas' father was Thomas Howard Duke of Norfolk and his mother was Duchess Agnes Elizabeth Tilney. His paternal grandparents were John I Howard Duke Of Norfolk and Catherine De Moleyns; his maternal grandparents were Sir Frederick (of Boston & Ashwellthorpe) Tylney Knight and Elizabeth Cheney. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Elizabeth and Catherine. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John, Margaret and Ann. He died at the age of 81 on August 25th, 1554 in Kenninghall, Norfolk, England. His burial was on October 2nd, 1554 in Framlingham, Suffolk, England.

General Notes
- REFN: 10003 English statesman, the son of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk (1443--1524), and brother-in-law of Henry VII. Howard was Lord High Admiral (1513), and helped defeat the Scots at Flodden Field (1513). He became Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1520). He was uncle to Anne Boleyn, but as Lord Steward presided over her trial for adultery (1536). He lost influence at court when another niece, Catherine Howard, was beheaded for adultery in 1542. Throughout the reign of Edward VI he was imprisoned on suspicion of the treason for which Henry VIII had executed his eldest son, Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey, in 1547. He was released on the accession of Mary I in 1553.
