William Hickock

William was born on December 10th, 1609 in Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire, England. William's father was Thomas Hickox and his mother is Elizabeth Sturley. His paternal grandfather is Edward Hickox; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Sturley and Anne Hill. He was an only child. He died at the age of 37 in 1646 in Farmington, Hartford County, CT.

- Arrived in America in 1635 aboard the ship "Plain Joan." He settled in Farmington, CT.
  
  Jacobus wrote in 1930 that the father of Samuel and Joseph Hickock, a Mr Hickock, "was not the Mr. William Hickock who had a lot in the original New Haven division of land, but who apparently never came over and was living in London at a considerably later date."
