Pepin I, known as The Old, was born in 0591 in Landen, Liege, Belgium. The Old's father was Carloman (Major Domus) Mayor of Austrasia.  His paternal grandfather was Charles Count of Brabant.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 48 in 0639.
