James Wade Sr.

James was born about 1665 in New Kent Co., VA. James' father was Edward Wade II. His paternal grandparents were Edward Wade and Jane ?. He was an only child. He died in 1740 in Hanover Co., VA.

  1704 taxed for 150 acres;
  
  March 1725, for 35 shillings, James Wade received a patent for 350 acres in Hanover Co., VA on both sides of Hollowing Camp Creek, "Cavaliers and Pioneers," vol. iii, book 12, p. 356.
  
  Edward is the only Wade in York County, old enough to be his father.
