Richard was born in 1260 in Millington, Banastre, Cheshire, England.  Richard's father was Adam Hoghton and his mother was Aurelia Howick.  His paternal grandparents were Adam Hocton and Agnes ?.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 80 in 1340.
