Maj. William Green

William was born on May 16th, 1753 in Buffalo Creek, NC. William's father was Capt. Joseph Greene and his mother was Mary McEntire. His maternal grandparents were Alexander McEntire and Janet McPherson. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Annie and Mary. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 79 on November 6th, 1832 in Rutherford Co, NC.

  William Green served in the Revolutionary War. William Green and Drucilla were buried in Green Cemetery, Bostic Brickyard, NC.
  
  Held the rank of Major and served in the Revolutionary
  War. He later went on to serve 20 years in the State legislature.

  Revolutionary War service: William Green was a Tory and served with Ferguson at the Battle of King's Mountain during the Revolutionary War. He along with 8 other men were captured and sentenced to hang. William and one of his buddies escaped in the middle of the night, he laid low for a couple of weeks, then joined the American forces and
  fought against Ferguson!
