John was born in 1460 in Eye Kettleby, Leicestershire, England. John's father was Everard Digby and his mother was Jacquetta Ellis.  His paternal grandparents were Everard Digby and Anne Clarke.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 73 in 1533.
