Edward was born in 1697 in Portsmouth, Newport, RI. Edward's father was Job Manchester and his mother was Hannah ?.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Manchester and Margaret Wood.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 95 in December 1792 in Little Compton, Newport, RI.
