Jean was born in 1647 in Notre Dame De Nantilly, Saumer, Anjou, France.  Jean's father was Jean Proulx (Prou) Sr. and his mother was Louise Vallee.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 56 on February 28th, 1703 in St-Thomas, Montmagny, Quebec, CA.
