Andre was born about 1643 in St-Gery de Valenciennes, Cambrai, France.  Andre's father was Pierre Poutre and his mother was Philipotte Rocquet (Raquet).  He was an only child.  He died on June 1st, 1726 in Pointe-Aux-Trembles, Quebec, Canada.
