Vincent Brun

Vincent was born in 1616 in La Chaussee, Vienne, Poitou, France. Vincent's father was Louis Le Brun. He was an only child. He died at the age of 70 in 1686 in Port Royal, Acadia, New France.

General Notes
- Vincent Brun, a laborer from La Chaussee, came to Acadia as a single man in his early 20s aboard the St.-Jehan in 1636. After his labor contract with Razilly and d'Aunay was up, Vincent returned to La Chaussee in the early 1640s and married a girl from his village. His wife died soon after giving birth to their child, who also died. Vincent remarried his dead wife's sister, Renee Breaux, in 1644 or 1645 and returned to Port-Royal with her in 1648. They brought with them their two daughters, Madeleine, age 3, who would become the second wife of Acadian patriarch Guillaume Trahan, and Andree, age 2. Two more daughters were born to them in Acadia. Their only son Sebastien was born at Port-Royal in 1655 and married Huguette, another daughter of Antoine Bourg. Sebastien and Huguette produced seven children, including four sons who raised families of their own.
