Gabriel was born in 1636 in St Prix, Montmorency, Oise, France.  Gabriel's father was Claude Benoit and his mother was Anne Fontaine.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 50 on October 27th, 1686 in Trois Rivieres, St Maurice, Quebec, Canada.
