Jean Francois was born on February 13th, 1648 in Quebec, PQ and his baptism took place on February 15th, 1648 in Québec City, Québec, CA.  Jean Francois' father was Francois Belanger and his mother was Marie Madeleine Guyon (Du Buisson).  His paternal grandparents were Sir Francois Belanger and Francoise Horlays; his maternal grandparents were Jean Guyon (dit Du Buisson) and Mathurine Madeleine Robin (dit Boule).  He had two sisters named Marie Madeleine and Mathurine.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 33 on February 5th, 1682 in L'Islet, Quebec, New France.  The funeral took place on February 6th, 1682.  His burial was on February 6th, 1682 in Château-Richer, Montmorency, Québec, Canada.
