Francis Baxter (John)

Francis was born in 1681 in England.  Francis' father was Thomas Baxter and his mother was Isabella Benson.  His paternal grandfather was Richard Baxter.  He was an only child.  He died  due to He was killed by a gun in the hands of a person named Johnson. at the age of 42 on October 10th, 1723 in Brimfield, Hampden, MA.

  Emigration: 1698 Emigrated with his young wife to Martha's Vineyard; 1715 Simon the Loyalist says his grandfather (Francis) emigrated from Scotland after the rebellion in 1715 in which he had been engaged.

  1. Francis C. Baxter was born in 1681. He married (--?--) (--?--) in 1697. He died on 10 Oct 1723 at Brimfield, Hampden County, Mass. He was killed by a gun in the hands of a person named Johnson.
  
  This doesn't fit with the birth of his son Simon in 1697 on Martha's Vineyard. In the 1690's William of Orange defeated supporters of James II in Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. Is this the wrong side that Francis backed and caused them to emigrate? (GFC comment).
