Richard Lygon

Richard was born about 1460 in of Mandresfield, Worchestershire, England. Richard's father was Thomas Lygon and his mother was Anne Gifford. He was an only child. He died on May 1st, 1512 in Madresfield, Worchestershire, England.

General Notes
- When Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492, Richard Lygon and Anne de Beauchamp were anticipating the birth of their first child. She was the coheir of Richard Beauchamp of Powyck, who died without male heirs about 1502. Thus, the title and the lands of the Beauchamp’s came into the Lygon hands.
  Richard Lygon served as justice of the peace in Worcester in 1509 and 1510. He owned manors at Madresfield, Warmedon, Bracy’s Leigh, Holfast, and Farley. They built Warmedon, now known as Warndon, in 900 A.D. and it is near Worcester in Worcestershire.
  Richard and Anne were the parents of eight children.
