  • Belleau in French means Beautiful (Bell) Water (Eau).
    
    I know that the family Belleau, later Bellew or Ballew, has an early Irish connection. They were Normans who went to Ireland, and even still have a castle there. It was rumored that a King Micheal Bellew was alive in this time period.
