Lt Jacques Bourgeois

Jacques was born on January 8th, 1621 in Couperans-En-Brie, Seine-Et-Marne, Champagne, France. He died at the age of 80 in 1701 in Port Royal, Acadia, New France.

  He had ten living children at the 1671 census.
  
  Germain is mentioned in the will of d'Aunay, written in 1649, the year before the governor died. In 1654, when the English seized Port-Royal, Germain Doucet commanded the post and was surrogate guardian of d'Aunay's children. The capitulation papers that Germain presented to Robert Sedgwick mention that, in order to insure that Germain fulfilled the terms of the capitulation, he left his "brother-in-law" and lieutenant, Jacques Bourgeois, as hostage, so Germain's second wife may have been Bourgeois's sister (or Jeanne Trahan's sister).
