Gether

Gether's father was Aram . His paternal grandfather was Shem . He had three brothers named Uz, Hul and Mash. Gether is no longer alive.

General Notes
- His descendants (known to Josephus as Gather) settled to the south of Damascus. Josephus identifies them as the latter-day Bactrians, famous amongst other things for a breed of camel. Whether this identification is correct or not cannot now be determined. It should, however, be noted that Bactria was populated by Aryan, or Japhetic, tribes in late Assyrian times, whereas the children of Gether were, of course, Semites.
